Val is returning to the Actors Centre to give a workshop focusing on women in Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge and Broken Glass.
Val has directed much of Miller’s work in the UK’s leading drama schools.

Circolo Italo Britannico, Venice: 2018
Val is delighted to continue the Live Literature Company’s European links by accepting an invitation to speak at the Circolo Italo Britannico in Venice again. This time the focus of her talk will be on EM Forster’s links with Italy.

The Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre.
Join The Live Literature Company for a fun and fascinating insight into the results of theatre censorship. This unique event will examine scenes by controversial 1960’s playwright Joe Orton, performed in both their censored and uncensored versions. Scenes will be read and performed by Edward Halsted, Wendy Morgan and Rosie Sheehy; directed by Valerie Doulton.

Val is delighted to continue The Live Literature Company’s relationship with the V & A. Val has previously staged Joe Orton’s work in a production of Funeral Games at The Lyric, Hammersmith.
The National Portrait Gallery – 200th Anniversary of Emily Bronte’s birth: 27th July 2018, 7pm
Val is delighted to continue her relationship with the National Portrait Gallery in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Emily Bronte’s birth, with a recital of Emily’s poetry by her portrait in the gallery. This is a rare opportunity to hear her poetry performed live, and we very much look forward to welcoming you to this event.
Summer Shakespeare: 2018
Love Scenes from As You Like It with Songs is our entertaining summer Shakespeare adaptation. Drama students from Niagara University USA, as part of Val’s long-running study abroad programme, will again give the performances.
